 Profitability in Online Business

An E-business or online business is a type of business on the Internet that sells products, services, or advertisements. The online process includes buying and selling products, supplies and services. It also includes servicing customers, processing payments, recruiting, and many others (Rouse, 2017). The internet has helped businesses advance, increase sales and worldwide popularity. Businesses like (example) and (example) are able to sell their products not only just in stores but online. This comes in handy when some people cannot make it to the store or simply live in another country. However, a business needs to make sure that they are able to make sales and once they do, they would need to increase them; to meet their goals. If I was ever hired to increase sales for an online business, there are several ways that I could do so. Such as creating email lists, displaying my business’ credibility on the website and providing a bright, refreshing design that’ll attract the customers.

The most common thing that I do every day is check my email. Within those emails I hope to find interest letters from potential jobs as well as alerts for new deals from my favorite stores. After I spot an email from a store, I automatically go on the website and see what’s new and also what they have to offer. This is something that would easily encourage new or old customers to remember the store and continue their interest which makes this a good strategy to increase sales. Building an email list allows you to regularly keep in touch with your subscribers, build relationships of trust and loyalty, and sell your products or services (Gehl, 2017). I can include a "sign up to subscribe" and craft promotional emails on the website for potential customers to stay connected with the company. Once I am able to build this kind of relationship with my customers, I will have their trust as long as I keep their interest at heart.

Another way to find or keep customers and increase sales, is to provide proof of credibility on the business’ website. Any easy way to do this is to include feedback and reviews for every product as well as for the company as a whole. This strategy helps visitors understand the products and view the feedback of recent customers which helps them trust and feel comfortable enough to buy from the company (Gehl, 2017). Honestly, I would not buy a product online if it has more bad reviews than good ones. If most people who has brought the product and had a bad experience, then I wouldn’t be surprised if I had one too. Even when a product has no reviews, I am still hesitant to buy. An easy way to avoid no reviews on my products is to simply encourage people to leave a review after every purchase. As a bonus, I may also offer a discount on their next purchase to help encourage them a little more.

Offering a bright and intriguing website for my customers is one more way to increase interest and sales within the business. Once visitors actually make it to my site, I would want them to be interested enough to stay on and look through it; and hopefully purchase something or set a reminder to purchase somewhere down the road. In this sense, I would create a website that meets the wants and needs of my business’s customers by doing so in an attractive way. This will improve the quality and relevance of the site’s content and make it more appealing to each visitor (RetailDoc, 2015). I would also have to make sure that every product has a picture with a detailed description; this will also be beneficial to potential customers. So, by simply having an attractive and detailed website could help generate higher traffic volumes without having to do much, in a way.

Furthermore, there are many ways to increase sales and attract customers for an online business such as creating email lists, displaying my business’ credibility on the website and providing a bright, refreshing design that’ll attract the customers; to name a few. But those three are the strategies that I would use if I was in charge of increasing revenue for a business. My main goal is to improve and to increase, and I would plan to do just that.
